what is the function of a hardener in inks used for pad printing or any other purpose?

I am using Rucos T18 series ink for pad printing. I would want to know as to why the hardener is added on that.
If you say it's for fast drying, then a thinner(reducer) is also added for fast drying. I am confused.

Couldn't find this brand on the web, but this may be an epoxy ink. For epoxy a "hardener" is used to cause the binder (the polymer or solid part of the ink) to cross-link. This makes it harden or dry.
A thinner (reducer) can also make the ink dry faster if it evaporates faster than say water (if it's a water-based ink). A thinner can do this by carrying water with it when it evaporates.
